So I’ll be off to buy Lost Odyssey soon I guess. Using classic rock to sell to me is too easy!

Pings and Trackbacks.0

Posted by webmaster in Uncategorized (Tuesday February 12, 2008 at 3:22 pm)

These are neat little ways to notify other blogs and in turn bloggers that you are linking to them.  Pings basically take the bracketed linked words.  If I were to say “I just read a great blog on internet neutrality”  The internet neutrality would show up in the comments section of the linked blog as a comment, or however that blog handles pings.

Trackbacks work in a similar way but provide more data.  Trackbacks are pretty much the standard fair in blog linking these days and naturally.  My blog won’t do them!!  I’ve been smashing my head on the keyboard trying to figure this out and it just won’t work.  I never see that the trackback was sent in the post edit screen on Wordpress.

Oh well I’ll keep smashing.

The internets are telling me that readers of my site want one thing and one thing alone. That is 802.1x support for their iPhones and iPod Touch. As I mentioned before I’m waiting the SDK, then I’ll try my hand at getting it to work. Until then, please Digg my story. Hit up the petition and finally, email Steve. Thats right get out there and handle it guys!

Can a Microsoft owned Yahoo stifle internet innovation? Google thinks so. I’m however unconvinced. Google was an upstart company, when it first started (with considerably LESS capital than Microsoft) it brought innovation not seen to the internet. Microsoft had no hand to play against Google and because of this Google is #1 and MSN is a far trailing #3. It sounds to me Google is frightened by the free market.
